About Us

Mission

The multiple crises of our age have upended past certainties. For scholars and social movement participants, these new conditions demand a culture of spirited collective deliberation and a critical reevaluation of past methods and objectives.

The Society and Protest Workshop brings together activists and scholars to forge an intellectual community committed to navigating this new terrain. We address questions arising from—but not limited to—the work conducted by social movements, formal organizations, civic initiatives, and mutual aid groups. We host public-facing panels and interactive workshops in which participants can sharpen their written contributions. Our aim is to foster the development of a critical scholarship that tackles the crises we confront head on.
